Hands down this is one of the kids favorite activities... well, aside from bear camp! They love being able to watch the dogs run as we drive the long, dirt road!

We try to run the dogs at least three times a week to keep them in shape for hunting. It also gives us family time in the truck to chat and joke with each other!

I absolutely love driving anywhere with Dustin because we can chat about life, goals, and plans for the future! The only problem now... Kenna is at that age where she wants to snoop in all conversation + she is catching on to WAY more than we would like! ha

Keeping the dogs in shape is crucial to their well-being on the mountain during hunts. If we don't exercise them for a month and then take them hunting, they are not going to be able to make the chase to the tree. Mountain terrain can be unforgiving and we want them to have the best shot + not get hurt in the process. Would you run a marathon without training? It is the same thing here!

Some people put their dogs on a leash and go for a run. We put them behind the truck and drive long dirt roads! I can't imagine trying to run nine hounds on leashes! Perhaps one day I'll get a wild hair and try ;)
